"This journey started last year. I had a nervous breakdown that required me to take a break from work. The nervous breakdown also brought a diagnosis of Asperger’s Syndrome. Basically, it explains the challenges and successes of the first 43 years of my life. I needed something to clear my head. I was always drawn to art that featured bright, vibrant colors. I started with an adult coloring book. I did not make it through half of an explicative. I started to doodle instead. I started with color pencils, but that was not vibrant enough. I wanted a lot of color. I followed the pencils with soft pastel and hard pastel. At this point, I was hooked on art. I went on a manic spending spree. I pretty much bought everything but a kiln. Most importantly, I found that I belong with oil paint. I love color. Vibrant color. I appreciate your encouragement."
