The work of Charlestonian, Kelley Andrews, is a collection of modern, one-of-a-kind hand fabricated jewelry that encompasses her passion for the Lowcountry. Inspired by the brilliant color of landscapes and the flowing lines of the ocean and marshes, she pushes the boundaries of jewelry design using a variety of gemstones and metals.
Shown below, "Summer Marshes" exemplifies the rich quiet calm of South Carolina's marshes during the summer season. While "Island Candy" explodes with vibrant colors and brightens your heart. Mookaite, jasper, garnet, amethyst, citrine and topaz are just some of the gemstones she chooses as the focus of each piece. Metalsmithing has also begun to take her into the creation of hand forged teaspoons, cocktail stirrers and coffee "paddles". Kelley continues to explore unique ways to manipulate sterling silver as she grows as an artist enjoying inspiration and support from Michael Corneau.
