Custom Designing Your Masterpiece

Custom designed jewelry is your chance to be involved in creating a piece you will cherish, not only for what it represents, but also because you oversaw and fine-tuned every detail of its creation from the moment the idea was conceived.

At Corneau Goldsmithing Jewelry Gallery, our gallery is filled with one-of-a-kind, hand crafted and custom designed beautiful jewelry and art. Additionally, we specialize in creating one-of-a-kind pieces from concept to completion. Whether you are cleaning out that old jewelry box with pieces you never wear or have inherited a piece that simply is not your style and keep for its sentimental significance or wanting to start from scratch and create something entirely new, we will help you create that one-of-a-kind piece designed especially for you.

If you need to add or build to your jewelry masterpiece, we have a large collection of rare, exotic and brilliant gemstones and opals to ignite your vision or accent your piece.

Michael, a master-trained goldsmith, has more than just the experience, skill and training in hand crafting jewelry, he integrates his passion for creating jewelry with your ideas and visions and sometimes even pushing the boundaries by drawing out more than you had imagined and revealing much more than you expected!  You are different, unique and striving to emphasize your individual qualities into a timeless and versatile piece which can be a beautiful addition to your style.

We walk you through the entire custom jewelry design process, from picking the gemstones, to designing your dream, resulting in a unique creation specifically for you. Michael uses his years of experience to bring a vast array of techniques and processes to the forefront. By bringing principles of architecture to his jewelry designs evoked from his days in interior and architectural design, Michael works directly with you at every phase of the design process to ensure that when you receive the final piece you are completely satisfied. He enjoys sitting down with customers and collaborating in an imaginative process to create something beautiful, meaningful and highly functional for you.

“A good designer should be able to design everything from a spoon to the city.”  - Massimo Vignelli

The first thing you will notice at Corneau Goldsmithing Jewelry Gallery, there are no display cases separating yourself from us. Our display cases are intentionally placed up against the wall.  How can we possibly get to know you, understand you as an individual, and appreciate who you are with a two foot barrier dividing us?  Our approach is personal.  Perhaps unique.  But isn’t that the way it should be? Service, above everything else, is our priority.  It is imperative during the initial design process to get to know you, understand you, and interpret your design preferences and lifestyle.

The Gemstones

With six years of apprenticeship under an internationally recognized gemstone expert and author, Richard Wise, Michael knows and loves gems. At Corneau Goldsmithing Jewelry Gallery, we have gems in all ranges, colors and categories. Ranging from mint-green garnet to stoplight red or color-change spinel, tourmaline in a variety of colors, Australian opal, and gem sculptures cut by award winning lapidary artists. Allow Michael to introduce you to the finer points of gem evaluation or bring in your own for a private consultation.

Michael is a constructivist, hand-fabricating every item by hand and in the store. He uses traditional goldsmithing techniques, dating back centuries, with his own high standards in high-carat gold and platinum. As with architecture and interior design, there should be continuity and flow in every style. Execution always being paramount! Additionally, few people realize fine gemstones do not fall within commercial, calibrated measurements and therefore the setting does not fit the gemstone. This is why Michael hand fabricates his own settings to complement the gemstone rather than forcing a match. Just as we give our clients individual attention, shouldn’t your gems deserve the same, whether it is one of yours or a gem you procured from us?

The Final Product

The final product is an extension of you. A collaboration between the client and the artist bringing the concept to fruition. The object being created, be it a ring, pendant, earrings, or other, should embody the individuality of the wearer. It should be timeless, a piece equally suited to be dressed up or dressed down, and not end up in the bottom of the jewelry box only to be worn on occasion. Jewelry is a personal adornment, enhancing your beauty, emphasizing your personality, and distinguishing you from others.

“The best designs are the most simple and basic and yet the most difficult to come up with. They are historic, stand the test of time, and do not fall prey to seasonal fads.” - Toby Thompson

You are the inspiration for your custom piece.  After a consultation with Michael, he will take you on a unique one on one journey of collaboration. The intent is to reveal more of who you are.  Drawing on personal experiences, interweaving your story into a work of art critically made with thought and intention that embodies and celebrates who you are.
